Edge by Expedites Nascar Midwest Modified car wins!

Edge by Expedites Nascar Midwest Modified car wins at Cedar Lake Speedway! Driver AJ Roschen drove the Edge car to victory June 28th in a very close and competitive race. Congratulations to AJ on his win ! The annual Firecracker Special held at the Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday night June 28 provided some spectacular racing along with a fantastic fireworks display following the races. A great summer evening, a large crowd and a very strong field of 117 cars were on hand in four NASCAR weekly racing divisions highlighted by a season high 41 car turnout in the midwest modified class. With two very good feature races already in the books, the 24 car NASCAR midwest modified field saw young A J Roschen and Dave Lear bring them to life for 20 racing laps. The race was immediately under caution for a four car incident with a complete restart necessary. When the green replaced the yellow, Roschen drove to the middle of the track and took the lead. Two laps later, Vince Corbin's night came to an end when he stopped in turn 3 with mechanical woes. Roschen continued to lead on the restart while under serious pressure from Shawn Phillips and a host of cars right behind him. A spin at the halfway mark brought out the third yellow. At this point, fans noticed the forward progress being made by Dan Wheeler and Andy Jones. Roschen maintained his lead running very smooth right in the middle of the track, although he was under constant pressure from Phillips and Bob Smith. The final caution waved when Matt Durbin made contact with the backstretch wall on lap 14 and rode the hook to the pits. Phillips soon retired to the pits himself with a flat tire while attempting to take the lead when the race went back to green. Bob Smith then picked up where Phillips left off in attempting to get by Roschen. The final six laps were spectacular, as 14th starter Dan Wheeler and 17th starter Andy Jones were now in the top five and on the move. Wheeler got by Smith for second on lap 19 while Andy Jones moved to fourth. The last lap saw the leaders race hard for the win, with Roschen, Wheeler and Smith exiting the final corner three wide while the crowd rose to its feet. Roschen had the advantage by a slim margin at the line to record his first-ever career feature win. Wheeler rode home in second just ahead of Smith. Jones was a close fourth while Charlie Hillukka rounded out the top five in his first appearance of the season.

LUCKY DUCK PRE-SEASON TIPS

The new waterfowl season is rapidly approaching and Edge by Expedite has put together some tips for getting your Lucky Ducks ready for another season of action. When you first take your Lucky Duck™ out of storage to get ready for the upcoming season, unplug, clean and replug in all the wiring connections in the duck. 2 to the battery, 2 to the motor and the white connector box in the wiring harness also. Also check you charger port and brush away any corrosion.

Once you have done this plug in the decoy to the charger for a full 8 hours and you should be good to go for the season.

REMINDERS ON CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Lucky Duck™ is water resistant not waterproof, NEVER (purposely) Submerge Lucky Duck™ in water!

1. Always charge the battery before storage. Failure to do so may result in battery damage or failure and reduced run time.

2. Clean the outside of your Lucky Duck™ using warm soapy water and a clean soft rag. Never use abrasives or harsh chemicals as this will damage the paint.

3. Store Lucky Duck™ in a dry environment.

4. Always wipe Lucky Duck™ dry after use.

5. Make sure switch is in off position when not in use. Failure to do so will drain the battery.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

If your battery is only lasting 1-2 hours or less: Turn the wing shafts to see if there is a drag on the motor.

» Check your charger port for corrosion. The new generation of Lucky duck does not have the charger port but comes equipped with the intermittent timer.

» Check all wiring connections.

» Lucky Duck™ will not run when charger is plugged in to charger port (connected to the charger.

» If your charger light turns green shortly after plugging in:

» Check the charger port for corrosion if you have that model type.

» Check wiring harness for corrosion.

» If motor will not run, check the 2amp fuse in the wiring harness.
